For Napoleonic Wars. Multiplayer only mod.
Warning: Mac/Linux users may have specific errors, Mac/Linux mod support is limited currently.
Note: you must have the Napoleonic Wars DLC to play this mod.
History Background
The War of 1812 was a 32-month military conflict between the United States and the British Empire and their Indian allies which resulted in no territorial change between the Empire and the USA, but a resolution of many issues which remained from the American War of Independence. The United States declared war in 1812 for several reasons, including trade restrictions brought about by Britain’s ongoing war with France, the impressment of American merchant sailors into the Royal Navy, British support of American Indian tribes against American expansion, outrage over insults to national honor after humiliations on the high seas, and possible American interest in annexing Canada.
TO INSTALL ON STEAM WORKSHOP
1. Click Subscribe to start downloading the mod. Then wait for the download to finish before proceeding.
2. Open Windows Explorer to browse your computer’s file directory. (It’s a light colored folder icon on the taskbar)
5. Rename the mod folder from (546946065) to (War of 1812) exactly as typed, do not include the parentheses in the mod folder name or you cannot join any servers.
6. Launch Warband and select War of 1812 in the drop-down menu. The preview icon should display.
(if you crash at the multiplayer main menu or the servers list please tell me, moving the module as above should workaround that issue. Do not attempt to launch a mod with a missing preview icon, it will crash.)

Optional Major Update for War of 1812, Final Version

Extract the files from the download folder. Copy the files inside the BRF folder from the download and paste them onto the Resource folder of your War of 1812 module. Then copy the files inside the DDS folder from the download and paste them onto the Textures folder of your War of 1812 module. Replace the destination files when prompted. A text file description of the update is included in the download.
