[1.7.10] Poker’s Garage Retro [UPDATE v.1.1 LIVE]

Are you passionate motorisation enthusiast that would love to blend his love for minecraft and cars into one? Say no more my friends, I’ve got something made specially for you.

Introducing Poker’s Garage Retro!

The newest incarnation of good old Poker’s Garage, Flans Mod content pack that used to be one of the biggest and best packs. Now, nearly 5 years (and many psychotic meltdowns) later, the garage is heading to the roots, with distinct visual style, paying homage to very first release of the pack, but with usage of all the technological goods, that community of minecraft-smp.de managed to bring into the craft.

So, what can you expect from Poker’s Garage Retro?

Well, I’m glad you ask. What you get are 30 new cars, designed to fit into your minecraft worlds better then ever. Cars are kept in distinct style, sporting good old square wheels (just like the good old times), while using complex shapes, and structures. This time around, cars are also using plenty of minecraft textures, like wool, leather wood, steel or glass, which helps enhancing on experience of even sitting in the car in First Person View.

Car selection, despite not being huge, is really varied. You get to choose from cheap bangers, in vein of VW Golf or Miata, through JDM legends, including Supra and RX7, Sports cars like newest Porsche 911 to Supercars like Lambo and Ferrari. What you will drive will be up to you.

But wait, there’s more!

Thanks to amazing work of minecraft-smp.de community, cars are sporting new functions that we never dreamt of back in 2013, like functioning lights and all new paintjob system, that make selecting colour version of car way easier on Creative mode. And Poker’s Garage Retro is taking full advantage of that, to give you, the Player, more ways to enjoy the pack in comfort of your Minecraft World.

Now Introducing: Update 1.1

Just like I expected, the mistakes were made in PGR 1.0, and a lot were discovered when after the launch. Main thing, that had to be fixed, were crafting recipes. Now, they are fully operational, so you can play with PGR in survival, to your hearts content.

Another thing I noticed was lack of balance in terms of types of cars, found in the pack. So, in the upcoming few updates, I will be trying to add more cars in specific tiers. First in lines were Bangers and Hot Hatches. There weren’t many of these, so batch of 10 new cars will be solid addition, to ever growing roster of PGR cars.

The Update also brings fixes to some bigger and smaller issues found in the pack.

To launch Poker’s Garage Retro, you will need:
Minecraft 1.7.10
Forge
Flans Mod.

Poker’s Garage Retro was designed with Flans Mod Ultimate in mind. It is special version of Flans Mod, made by community. You can try launching the pack on standard Flans Mod for 1.7.10 but most features, like Lights and Paintjob will work only on FM Ultimate.

To install the pack, just extract the contents of Flans folder inside the archive, into Flan folder in your Minecraft directory.

Archive contains not just Poker’s Garage Retro, but also, special Parts Pack. Parts Pack will be updated in the future, as for now, it’s designed mostly for Creative mod, so spawning the cars from Creative tab, will give them the performance I intended for them.

Bugs

— Recipes for cars don’t work correctly. Some parts are not visible in crafting table.

Of course, I’m trying to make Poker’s Garage Retro, as stable as possible, but keep in mind, some bugs may slip through my fingers. Feel free to notify me, if you’ll find anything that is broken, or doesnt work as intended.

Can I use the pack on my server?
Yeah, sure. If you play just with your friends, you have no need to worry. If your server goes public. Well, still don’t worry. Just notify me, write me a PM or something, I like to see, people enjoying my pack.

Can you make xyz?
Why not? The question is, can you explain to me why should I make said vehicle?

Can you update to newer version of Minecraft?
Depens on your definition of update. Newer version of Minecraft? I might do that, if there will be some cool alternative to Flans Mod. I heard rumors, about team, trying to update Flans Mod Ultimate for 1.12, so that might be fun to try.

Will you update the mod itself?

Yeah, I will! I have a lot of cars that I really wanna do. If you are interested in seeing some updates on the updates, check out my profile, I just added news feed, so you guys can get some glimpse into what I’m doing!

Can I use your mod in my modpack?
Well, I don’t mind that, but ask me first. It’s all about proper communication, between me and you.

If it goes about using the mod in your videos and photos or even adventure maps, go for it. But remember to credit me.

Well, if so I present you Macaw’s Doors. This mod gives you the opportunity to make vanila doors with every wood

color. I includes new doors too, for example: Shoji Doors, Metal Doors, Jail Doors, Modern Doors and more!
